be based upon the "libkmod" (kmod) codebase, unified with this one. To
join in the fun, see #kmod on Freenode, and the mailing list. Consider
progress of this new project before embarking on new development here.
Once the replacement is ready, the existing codebase will be obsolete.

Note:
The cross-compile detection for scanf modifiers has been improved, thus
we do not need to provide help anymore.
Besides that there seems to be an effort to migrate applications from
other unmaintained packages (for example sysvinit) into util-linux.
There is a brief overview about the changes in 2.22 at [1].
